Surrey shooters Kenny Parr (Croydon R.C.) and Lina Jones (Bookham R.C.) won English Championship gold medals in the English Sport Shooting Union championships at the Lord Roberts Centre, Bisley, in early May 2013.

The competition was run to full international standard ISSF rules, including stringent equipment control and full Olympic format finals for the top 8 shooters in each Olympic discipline, in accordance with the new final knockout rules.

Kenny took an impressive double gold in the mens 10 metre air and mens 50 metre prone rifle events and bronze in the mens 50 metre 3 position rifle competition and Lina won the English women’s championship in 50 metre prone rifle.

 

 

Other notable performances by Surrey shooters included bronze for Austin Wilshire in the men’s 50 metre prone rifle and bronze for Hannah Pugsley in the womens 50 metre 3 positions rifle and 5th in both the womens 10 metre air rifle and womens 50 metre prone rifle, with 8th for Mary Pearce in the womens 50 metre prone rifle. Mother and daughter 50 metre mixed pairs team Mary Pearce and Hannah Pugsley came second. Paul Duxbury came 6th after making it through to the mens 50 metre prone rifle final.
