In the spirit of new year’s resolutions and with 2016 being another inspiring Olympic year, you are invited to attend a presentation and workshop about shooting instruction and development funding on the morning of Saturday 6th February 2016 at Bookham Rifle Club, Leatherhead, Surrey.

The event, entitled: Shooting Futures: Juniors, Instructors, Funding and Facilities is aimed at existing and budding instructors and coaches, club officials and other active members interested in developing their club membership and facilities in all disciplines, including air rifle and pistol, lightweight sport rifle, HFT and .22 rifle and pistol.

The presentation and discussion is intended to explore how your club might attract and retain junior members, find funding for projects and increase the quality of instruction and coaching – and enjoyment of shooting.

If this is of interest, why not come along for the 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. event and stay afterwards for a buffet lunch? We’re particularly keen for those with experience in these areas to attend and participate in an open forum for the benefit of all.

Dave Froggett, the NSRA’s Coaching & Development Manager will explain how the NSRA’s courses operate, how to become a youth shooting tutor, club instructor or coach and how clubs around the UK attract and retain junior and new members.

Liv Corbishley, Business and Marketing Manager at ActiveSurrey, will aim to let clubs know about support that ActiveSurrey can provide; including funding for coaches, its Activity Finder, the elite programme for athletes, marketing support and support around funding applications for facilities and club development.

You can download an A4 poster (here). I would be grateful if you would put it up on your club noticeboard.

Numbers are limited and we need to know as soon as possible how many to cater for, so please register your intention to attend (and if you want to stay for sandwiches and nibbles) at: form

Kind regards and happy shooting in 2016.

Peter Jones

Chairman

Surrey County Small Bore Rifle Association.
