The Surrey LSR Open held at Carshalton on the 29th September 2018 was narrowly won by last year’s winner Colin Hudson of Carshalton with 574 ex 600. Colin was just one point clear of second place newcomer and Junior JJ. Culshaw of Woking Scouts Target Shooting Club. Third place went to Fraser Hay of Lingfield with 567.

Class B was won by George McEwen of Woking Scouts TSC, with 545.

The Junior medal was won by JJ Culshaw of Woking Scouts TSC, with 573, a very fine shoot and just one point behind the overall winner.

Numbers were significantly up from last year, with several entrants shooting their first shoulder to shoulder competition, and a number of Juniors taking part.

It is noteworthy that all of the Juniors were shooting with diopter sights, competing against adults with telescopic sights.

The trophies will be awarded at the Surrey Dinner at Bisley on December 1st.

Many thanks to scorer Nigel Milner, officials Gail Rees, Braff Knight-Simpson and Brian Edmunds, to Carshalton Rifle Club for hosting the event and to Target Shooting School for sponsorship of targets and drinks.
