Surrey shooters will be competing again in the Rotterdam KSVR 50m 60 shot prone match on electronic targets on 09 October 2011 (10 Euro entry). The meeting is also on 02 and 08 October and includes a 3 x 40 3P match, but the last Sunday is preferred as it is prize giving.
The competition is open to all and held in an impressive range in the sports district of Rotterdam. The trip provides an opportunity for a enjoyable shooting experience abroad and a night out in Rotterdam, all of which which is more or less affordable depending on how much visitors choose to spend on hotel accommodation. The Norfolk Lines return fare between Dover and Dunkirk is only £39 return (at time of writing), although it is imperative to register firearms transit with the ferry company at least 24 hours before travelling and to have obtained a European firearms pass from the police before booking/travelling.
It's possible to view range availability online at: www.baanplanner.eu (select "baanplanner" and scroll way down and select "OPEN - INTERNATIONALE Schietwedstrijd - 50m KKG bij KSVR te Rotterdam oktober 2011"). Clicking on available lanes brings up an entry form, which you should fill out with all required fields (any old number in the two licence number fields will do, but don't leave them blank). English instructions are available on the main page re prone, left handed (or not), display name (or not) and submit. You should receive a Dutch language confirmatory email almost immediately. It's not necessary to make payment upon booking, but will need to stump up on arrival at the range.
More information is available from Peter Jones (mailjones@ntlworld.com) and details abut the Rotterdam club, address etc. can be found by typing "KSVR Rotterdam Range" into google and selecting the translated version of www.ksvr.nl
