Having battled through the qualifying rounds, Surrey was pipped by old foes Hampshire by one point in the final of the national prone small bore rifle short range inter county knockout competition.
The Surrey team of 20 were runners up with an average of 97.9 and an aggregate of 1958, while Hampshire scored 1959; a better average per shooter of just 0.05 of a point.
Well done to the team for making it this far, and better luck next year!
